DAY 1
San Jose, Costa Rica (20 minutes transfer approx. – 16.9 KM)
Welcome to San José, Costa Rica.
We will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Once in the capital city, you can visit the theaters, museums, and beautiful parks or simply enjoy a cup of Costa Rican coffee while watching the daily life of the “Ticos”.
DAY 2 and Day 3
San José – Tortuguero (6 Hours Approx.) 116 Kms.
Pachira Lodge is located near the lush Tortuguero National Park. A unique destination, where you can enjoy the wonderful rainforest, with its incredible rivers, lakes, wetlands, and local fauna. To get there, you must take land and river transportation, which is included. It offers 94 comfortable, spacious rooms with ceiling fans, screened windows, and private bathrooms. In the facilities, you will find amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, Spa, internet access, bar, and restaurant, where you can taste the local food that is included in your stay.
DAY 4
Tortuguero – Arenal Volcano (6 Hrs Approx. – 174 Km)
Afternoon departure to La Fortuna, where awaits the impressive Arenal Volcano, one of the natural wonders of the country for its majesty. Today there aren´t lava eruptions, but you can still observe the smoke, and ash spewing out of the top of the volcano. The Arenal Volcano region is an exquisite destination for its attractive landscape, its hot springs, and Lake Arenal. During the transfer, you will see agricultural plantations, ornamental plants and cattle farms.
DAY 5
Arenal
We are going to visit La Fortuna Waterfall; a view of the 70-meter-high waterfall and a 600 meters hike to the natural pool at the base. (Bring swim clothes, a towel, and special water shoes because of the rocky river bottom). Later on, drive to an organic production farm near La Fortuna for lunch.
At 3:00 p.m. tour continues to the Arenal National Park, in here the tour guide will talk about the natural and geological history of the volcano, cross a path of solid lava and enjoy an excellent view over the volcano and Lake Arenal.
DAY 6
Arenal Volcano – San José (3.5 hrs approx. 116 KM)
Transfer to the capital of San José, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Latin America. The city is located at a strategic point near the main tourist attractions such as historical buildings, museums, theaters, craft markets, beautiful parks, shopping malls, and offers a varied gastronomic offer.

Requirements for the rental car
- Valid driver’s license. The foreign license is valid in Costa Rica for 90 days from the date of entry to the country.
- Minimum age of the driver is 23 years old
- The driver must have a valid driver’s license from the country of origin.
- The driver must present a valid passport
- The driver must present original credit card (AMEX, VISA, MASTER CARD) and available for the guarantee deposit ($500.00 approximately)
